Q1) Define the term ‘moral integrity’?

- Moral Integrity is an action or a set of rules which is taken by in a situation when you decide whether you think it is the right or wrong decision.

Q2) Describe why Maximillian Koble is regarded as Christian of exemplary moral integrity?

- Maximillian Koble is regarded as Christian Exemplary of moral integrity because like Jesus he died for a person as he knew that that person has still a long and healthy life to live and he showed moral integrity by dying or risking his life to help or protec t another human being.

Q3) Outline Maximillians ethical actions/ principals that he demonstrated in Auschwitz?

In Auschwitz Maximillian demonstrated  ethical actions and principals by dying or risking his life just like Jesus dying on the cross. He showed courage and bravery in Auschwitz

Q4) Evaluate whether you think he made the right decision and provide research to support your answer. i.e Catholic Teachings.

I think that in the end that Maximillian Koble made the right decisions by sacrafising his life for another man who he knew still had a life to live. His actions reflects what is said in the bible. In Matthew 27: 32-46 where Jesus dies on the cross for the sake of forgiving our sins, Maximillian Koble died or gave up in life like Jesus but unlike Jesus giving up his life for many people, Maximillian Koble gave up his life for only one person but in dying did a good deed showing moral integrity.

Individual Task 4:

- By watching the Youtube Video about the Dalai Lama, He is reincarnated Buddhist. He is the head of the Buddhist and Tibetan People. He is thought to be the 14th reincarnation of what is called the heavenly dayanty of compassion and wisdom. About 14 million buddhists think that the Dalai Lama is a living God, but he does not think that he is a God, but he sees himself more as a teacher to the Buddhist people and plimgrams. He sees that if you do good things in your previous life you will have a good next life but if you were not doing good things in your previous life, you will not have a good next life.

2.) Evaluate how the actions of the Dalai Lama in regard to the riots in Tibet would be regarded as exemplary moral integrity- Because he has said that if these riots continue in countries like his own and his own people being involved in these such riots, he is willing or prepared to resign from his job of being the Dalai Lama therefore showing an ideal moral integrity.

Q1: Which countries have banned the Internet? Countries that have banned the Internet aren’t all because of what’s bad about it, countries have banned the Internet, are financially worse off than countries like Australia, USA, England. Therefore with the minority of the poulation being able to afford computers in these countries, that particular country has decided to not ban the Internet, but ’post-pone’ the Internet from their country until they are able to access it financially. These countries that have banned the Internet or can’t afford it are: Maldives, Tunisia, Belarius, Libia, Syria, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, Myanmar/Burma, Cuba, Turkmenistan and North Korea.

Q2: Describe what the folowing image is about

The image to me looks like the Internet has been banned because of the controversial website ‘youtube’. What this particular image also tells me that a majority of the countries that have banned the Internet are countries that are from Asia, which ar eplaces with very strict disciplinary beliefs and that websites such as youtube, etc have pushed the boundaries of what those people call appropriate websites.

Q3: Provide evidence of at least 5 sources that discuss the reasons why these countries have taken such a drastic aproach.

Q4: Discuss how you would feel if the Australian government banned the internet. What privileges would you use?

I would feel very disappointed if the Australian gorvernment banned the Internet because if they did that they would be going back to the ‘good old days’ when the teacher copied out the textboook and the students were expected to remember it all. This isn’t as effective as the Internet because you can look at 3 different websites on the same topic, therefore allowing you to ellaborate on your current knowledge.

The privileges that i feel that i would lose is the communication with people all over the globe, and this could effect your cultural knowledge because you would be learning about the traditions that someone would do in their country and you yourself would also be spreading your culture all over the globe. The Internet, when you think about it, makes the world a smaller place, because you can contact someone thousands of kilometres away within seconds. This shows how connected our world has become. Imagine if Jesus could broadcasting his teachings across the globe, how much of a better place would we be living in? A much better one I believe.

Journal 6:
Q1: Define the term ‘moral maturity’
To be morally mature means that you don’t let emotion effect your thinking, so if you get hit for six bowling in a game of cricket, to be morally mature you will forget about that delivery and focus on the next one. To be morally mature you can also participate in the social world, which means that you can understand others, and vice versa.
Q2: Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man would lack ‘moral maturity’
The reason why i think that the 25 year old man was morally immature because he let his emotions get the better of him, and this is proved by him spitting on police and resisting arrest.
Q3: Identify the differences between morality and immorality
Morality is the concern with the distinction with right and wrong, or good and evil. This also means that the person who has qualities of morality is generally a cautious person and will think things through beforehand. Immorality is the quality of not being in accord with standards of right or good conduct, or in other words, the opposite of morality.
Q4: Watch the following clip and describe the reasons why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as immoral
The reason why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be considered immoral because he knew what he was doing was wrong and failed to accept the fact that if anyone found out who he was, his job would be in serious jeopardy. This, to me is failing to consider the consequences. Another reason why it is immoral is because he pretended to be someone else, to cover up his true identity.

From watching the above clip, based on Donald duck’s experience with his own conscience and as evident he was compelled and ridiculed by his conscience. He was so intrigued to make the wrong decisions such as smoking and staying in bed because of his motives. A conscience simply from watching the above cartoon is an inner sense that exists in an individual’s mind that tells us what is principally right or wrong and assists us to make the right decision or action
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/consciencev
Describe how a person’s conscience works in making moral decisions. Explain the relationship between religion and conscience.
A person’s conscience impels an individual to make moral decisions. As seen in the above Youtube clip it portrays how the conscience almost forces us to make the correct decisions as the mind articulates and provides us with the most appropriate decisions. As evident in the clip, each person has made the correct decision by not robbing a convenient store, not taking advantage of a drunken girl and not lashing out on a loved one. There is a strong relationship between religion and a person’s conscience because some individual’s like me for instance have made their decisions accordingly to what is right and wrong in their religion. As seen in many other clips, a devil and angel is evident and suggests people to make the wrong or right decision and this idea was composed in relation to significant figures in Christianity. Most religious people avoid doing actions that go against their religion.

Journal 8:

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.
Discuss what you would do in this situation.
The aim of this Religion project is to grow in moral maturity. From learning from previous experiences in my life and from this particular project I believe I am able to make more mature decisions. In this situation, I know and I am certain I would be terrified to confront the youths, so in turn this is where I would use my mind and come up with the most appropriate decisions and hopefully help this man. I would memories the carriage in which I caught and run quickly to the guard’s compartment and give all necessary information regarding the situation. In succession with the guards being aware they immediately would take action in assisting this man as soon as possible.
Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. One of them promotes the idea of going for a walk and causing a riot. At first you tell them “No way”. However, the girl you like states that “she will like you more if you go”.
Discuss what you would do in this situation.
In this situation I would take complete a number of actions that hopefully will impel them to stop considering on going on a riot. As her friends are bored, I would attempt to entertain them or occupy them by doing anything available such as go watch a movie. If they still refuse, I would attempt to reason with them and aware them of the possible repercussions and this includes arrest, damaging others properties, embarrassing their parents and most of all their safety is at risk. If they still persist with their plan, I’ll simply walk away and privately warn the police, their parents or anyone in the neighbourhood that a riot would possibly take event.

Journal 15:

What is an Informed Conscience?
In order to make a decision doctor’s access a wide range of medical knowledge and patient history in order to diagnose a problem and treatment. The same principle can be applied to making moral decisions. We must be well informed regarding all the facts of the situation, moral values, virtues and laws in order to make our final decision.
Therefore, an informed catholic conscience is an educated conscience that knows in any given situation.
Read the following scenario and answer the questions:
Roger Smith, a quite competent swimmer, is out for a leisurely stroll. During the course of his walk he passes by a deserted pier from which a teenage boy who apparently cannot swim has fallen into the water. The boy is screaming for help. Smith recognizes that there is absolutely no danger to himself if he jumps in to save the boy; he could easily succeed if he tried. Nevertheless, he chooses to ignore the boy’s cries. The water is cold and he is afraid of catching a cold — he doesn’t want to get his good clothes wet either. “Why should I inconvenience myself for this kid,” Smith says to himself, and passes on.
1.) There are always TWO sides to a conscience. What would Roger’s conscience be telling him?

In reference to Roger’s decision of ignoring the situation, this subsequently implies that he has a low level of moral maturity as well; it is obvious that he doesn’t have an informed conscience. As included in the scenario, his conscience told him to ignore the situation due to factors of ruining clothes and catching a cold. His conscience would also attempt to convince him to make another decision and that is regardless of his clothes or risk of sickness, to assist the struggling kid as he is not a competent swimmer like himself.
2.) Think of an example of Jesus’ teaching and explain how his teachings can help us to make an appropriate decision?

An example of Jesus’ teaching that influences individuals to complete an appropriate decision, is the Beatitudes as it can help develop a person’s conscience as well as alter one’s motifs and virtues towards different situations. One particular beatitude is; “Blessed are those who mourn; they shall be comforted” and in conjunction to the above scenario it describes that people who suffer will eventually receive an award (that is support/help) and thus influences people to make the appropriate decision. Generally of all Jesus’ teaches assist to make an appropriate decision.
